Araku is a reserved Scheduled Tribes (ST) Lok Sabha constrituency seat in Andhra Pradesh. It was formed in 2008 after the new delimitation rules were applied. In 2009 Congress won with a 45% vote share but in 2014 their votes were transferred to YSRCP whose candidate won with an impressive 45% vote share. Araku Constituency is the second largest constituency (in terms of area) in India.

Araku Election Results 2014

Araku has just seen two Lok Sabha elections but there has been enough ups and downs already in the seat. In 2009, Congress won comprehensively and its candidate Kishore Chandra Deo secured an impressive 45.49% vote share. But after 2009, Congress split and YSRCP was formed. YSRCP easily won the 2014 elections while Congress was reduced to a third place with the same candidate Kishore Chandra Deo ending up with just 5.81% votes!
